Job Summary Our data analysts will leverage their knowledge of systems, business processes, regulatory requirements and mathematical/statistical expertise to develop new datasets, provide oversight to processes and systems affecting data quality, and perform exploratory analysis to discover new insights. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s data and analytics strategy by working closely with the business to execute data‑driven initiatives. You will develop data solutions, perform data analysis, and grow data awareness and literacy within the company. This role requires a strong foundation in data analytics along with an understanding of data science, data engineering, and data modeling.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights and solutions.

Perform data analysis tasks, including cleaning, transformation, and visualization, to uncover meaningful patterns and trends in large datasets.

Partner with data engineering to develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows, ensuring efficient and accurate ETL processes.

Apply statistical analysis techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify correlations, predict outcomes, and optimize business processes.

Assist in the development and maintenance of data models, dictionaries, and documentation to ensure data integrity and consistency.

Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover insights and provide recommendations for improving business performance and decision‑making.

Collaborate with engineers and scientists to identify opportunities for automation and optimization of data processes.

Monitor data quality and proactively resolve discrepancies or anomalies.

Participate in cross‑functional teams to support data‑related projects, providing expertise and guidance on analysis, management, and visualization.

Work on business case development, project value proposition, and help with workload prioritization.

Stay updated with industry trends in data analytics, science, and engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance capabilities.

Pursue learning of systems, processes, datasets, techniques, etc., with self‑motivation.

Operate with moderate supervision and provide training or guidance to less experienced professionals.

Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Experience with data visualization software such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Looker.

Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, and AWS.

Experience with data warehousing technologies like Oracle, SAP HANA, and Google BigQuery.

Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.

Proficiency in Python and R for analysis and scripting.

Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with modeling tools.

Experience with machine learning, statistical techniques, and algorithms.

Experience with ETL processes and database management systems.

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Experience presenting technical data in a non‑technical manner to employees at all levels.

Strong communication skills, translating complex data concepts into understandable insights for non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

Project management experience.

Utility industry experience.

Experience with data governance.
