Overview
Mechanical Engineer - Advanced Power Generation Black & Veatch is seeking a highly motivated person to function as a Lead Mechanical Engineer in the design of mechanical systems for Advanced Power Generation projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad and perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility under general supervision.

Acquire knowledge of both Black & Veatch and industry standards and implement them in project development
Prepare moderately complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, and develop project design recommendations
Team and Projects
The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team delivering high quality, on-time design and services across Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, Mining, and related mechanical disciplines. Projects cover conventional, CHP, hydro, hydrogen, nuclear, solar/renewable, LNG, ammonia, fertilizer, air quality control, HVAC, piping, thermal and renewable performance estimating and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in most of the following areas:
Instrument and/or Service Air Systems
Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems
Service and potable water supply system
Natural, hydrogen, and nitrogen gas supply systems
Closed cycle cooling water system
High/Intermediate/Low/Auxiliary Steam systems
Feedwater and condensate systems
CO2 Supply System
Pipe sizing, pipe thickness, pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, and related calculations
P&ID development
Air, gas, water & steam systems design and engineering
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years related work experience
Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries
Certifications
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support EOR requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
Work Environment and Schedule Office environment with possible site visits requiring physical tasks
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and work assignments
