Prime Controls
What You Will Do
As a Controls Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing control system details, configuring instrumentation, preparing for implementation, and conducting testing, documentation, and training. A Typical Day at Prime Controls
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals. Read and interpret diagrams and documentation; communicate with customers to understand objectives and preferences. Develop the overall architecture and communication strategy between control system elements. Work with customers and stakeholders to define and document control system functionality. Create BOMs, IO lists, and control panel requirements. Serve as the technical lead for small projects, including building PLC and HMI templates. Develop PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages. Create human-machine interfaces (HMI). Develop hardware/software test plans and simulation logic for system testing. Prepare training plans and materials for operations and maintenance personnel. Coordinate with installation management to ensure technicians follow documented processes. Test installed systems to verify functionality and program performance. Troubleshoot startup issues caused by drawings, customer changes, instrumentation, or technical problems; diagnose and resolve hardware/software interface issues. Train customers on system operation and software. Interface with software and application vendors for troubleshooting and problem resolution. Collaborate on design problem-solving as needed. Respond to service calls for troubleshooting and repairs. Mentor and train less experienced staff. What You Will Bring
The Basic
4 years of industrial controls experience in engineering, construction, or similar fields. Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. 4 years of PLC programming experience. Proficiency with Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation hardware. Experience with PLC programming languages including ladder logic, function block, and structured text. Familiarity with Ethernet/IP networking. Knowledge of HMIs. The Preferred
6 years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industries. Proficiency with Aveva System Platform (Wonderware). Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk software. What We Offer
