Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
is responsible for developing and implementing new processes and capabilities in house or externally to reduce the product cost of the assembly operation. Location and Compensation
Buffalo, NY — Be part of an exciting journey as we build our new facility in the Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park in Alabama, NY. This role offers a hybrid opportunity, blending remote work flexibility with on-site presence during the facility's construction phase. Address: 6685 Crosby Rd Basom, NY 14013 Salary Range: $70,000 - 97,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Essential Functions
Work closely with Korean engineers and equipment vendors to understand current processes at existing pump facilities in Korea. Implement processes into the new plant in Genesee, NY including qualification, installation, and validation of new equipment and associated documentation. Assist with the specification, location, acquisition, and installation of new equipment into the facility. Provide manufacturing engineering support to the operational team where needed. Implement changes to data systems and maintain data system integrity; responsibilities include change orders, non-conformance tracking, and system routings. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost Performance. Perform time studies for assembly processes to create correct routings and optimize balancing of the assembly process. Define, set up, prepare, and optimize Job orders and manufacturing tooling. Interface with colleagues, customers, vendors and others to understand requirements, assess feasibility of new/existing products, and improve production techniques. Create and maintain SOPs, and technical specifications for manufacturing equipment and test specs. Document designs with drawings, specifications, and materials lists. Provide active training for processes, procedures, documentation, and traceability to sustain workforce competencies within allocated manufacturing cells. Maintain punctual, regular attendance and work collaboratively in a team environment. Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager and perform other duties as assigned. This position will initially report to the Project Manager in Genesee, NY and will transition to report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager as site staff is implemented. Skills and Qualifications
Education level
Bachelor degree in engineering, mechanical or manufacturing preferred. Industry experience would be considered in the absence of a degree. Relevant Previous Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, machining, assembly or operations environment. Knowledge Areas/Skills
Experience/knowledge of Kaizen, 6S, Lean Manufacturing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Advanced Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Project, SolidWorks. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP beneficial). Other Requirements
Strong English verbal and written communication skills; Korean language skills a benefit. Experience in project management and leading improvement projects. Physical Requirements
This role involves a mix of desk-based engineering tasks, on-site inspections, and interaction with manufacturing processes, requiring moderate physical activity in varied environments. Sitting/Stationary Positioning: Remains in a seated position frequently for tasks such as designing, analyzing data, or using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Hand and Finger Use/Dexterity: Uses hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls occasionally to moderately, with manual dexterity for tasks like sketching, operating computers, or handling small tools; near vision required for detailed drawings or screens. Standing/Walking: Traverses moderate distances or remains upright to inspect production lines, collaborate with teams, or evaluate equipment on the shop floor. Moving Objects/Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds during inspections or testing. Bending/Twisting/Reaching: Occasionally bends, twists, or stretches to access equipment or reach workstations. Repetitive Motions: Occasional repetitive actions such as typing or adjusting equipment. Environmental Factors: Frequently exposed to moderate noise levels and occasional contaminants or hazardous equipment; may wear protective equipment on the shop floor. Benefits Summary
