Key Responsibilities
Take direct, hands‑on responsibility for the daily operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the entire Citrix CVAD infrastructure, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, NetScaler (Citrix ADC), PVS/MCS, License Servers, and related components.
Proactively monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement optimization strategies to ensure a consistent, high‑quality user experience for all virtualized applications and desktops.
Serve as the final escalation point for complex technical issues related to Citrix, Windows Server, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and application delivery.
Lead the technical design, configuration, and implementation of new Citrix solutions, upgrades, patches, and major infrastructure enhancements.
Drive efforts to automate routine operational tasks and deployment processes using tools like PowerShell, Citrix Orchestration, and configuration management platforms.
Ensure the Citrix environment adheres to all internal and external security policies and compliance standards, including regular patching and configuration audits.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Citrix and systems engineers/administrators. Conduct performance reviews, foster professional development, and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Oversee all operational services, including incident response, problem management, change management, and service request fulfillment for the Citrix platform.
Interface with key technology vendors (e.g., Citrix, Microsoft, hardware providers) for support, purchasing, and strategic technology roadmaps.
Assist in developing the annual budget for the Citrix platform, including hardware, software licensing, and support contracts. Contribute to the long‑term infrastructure strategy.
Plan and execute infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical and business requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and managing large‑scale, complex Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments (formerly XenApp/XenDesktop).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management role, directly managing a technical team.
Deep expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (latest versions preferred).
Expertise in Citrix ADC/NetScaler (Gateway, Load Balancing, Content Switching).
Proficiency with Provisioning Services (PVS) and/or Machine Creation Services (MCS).
Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS and Active Directory, GPOs, and DNS in a virtual environment.
Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper‑V.
Expert‑level PowerShell scripting for administration and automation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Proven ability to lead a team, manage priorities, and drive operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Pilot or aviation enthusiast.
Experience building and scaling teams.
Citrix Certified Expert - Virtualization (CCE‑V).
Citrix Certified Professional - Networking (CCP‑N).
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent.
ITIL Foundation certification.
