Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction Columbia, SC We are seeking an experienced Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction to join a leading site development company with a strong pipeline of projects. This role is ideal for an estimator with a solid background in heavy civil, site work, utilities, and road construction who is looking for long-term growth and advancement. Must-Have Qualifications : 5+ years of civil construction estimating experience (heavy civil, site work, utilities, drainage, and roads) Experience working for a general contractor as an estimator on site work projects Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Hands-on experience estimating self-performed work (labor, equipment, and material costs) Ability to produce accurate estimates from conceptual to final contract documents Knowledge of grading and utilities for industrial, commercial development, mining reclamation, and general site work Experience estimating projects ranging from $500K to $10M Preferred Skills : Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Associates or partial degree with relevant experience considered) Experience with Bid2Win (B2W) Heavy Bid, HCSS, or similar software Familiarity with Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, CAD, or other takeoff / modeling tools Strong understanding of constructability, value-engineering, and risk assessment What You’ll Do : Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for heavy civil and site development projects Price labor, equipment, and material costs for self-performed work Review conceptual and schematic drawings to develop estimates Analyze project risks, constructability issues, and propose value-engineering alternatives Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project teams to ensure precision in bids What’s In It for You : Competitive pay with bonus eligibility Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Company-provided computer Full pipeline of work for the next year and beyond Structured, team-oriented work environment with hands-on leadership Excellent training and promotion-from-within culture Commitment to work-life balance Travel within SC, NC, and GA may be required.
