Provides cleaning services to patient and non-patient areas. Responsibilities

Essential Functions - General

As a self-motivated Team Member, adhere to all Standards of Behavior, exhibit excellent customer service skills, and function in a cohesive team environment. Communicates with patients, visitors and customers using appropriate scripting and engagement techniques. Facilitate Facility Image

Clean and disinfect patient rooms and ancillary areas to include bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms as directed by licensed clinical staff, using designated cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleaning Scope

Clean in-patient and non-patient rooms, including patient bed, furniture, light fixtures, ceiling vents, windows, window coverings/blinds, restroom fixtures, IV poles, Murphy beds and other designated equipment, floors and carpets. Supply and Waste Management

Replenish supplies as needed, remove bio-medical waste, trash and soiled linen daily, and change cubicle/window curtains as needed. Equipment and Mobility

Move cleaning carts, supplies and equipment; operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners; climb a ladder as needed. Patient Room Turnover

Complete patient room and bathroom cleaning daily to accommodate discharges/admissions and maintain cleanliness standards using approved procedures and Bed Management systems where applicable. Attendance and Compliance

Maintain regular, punctual attendance and comply with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws. Other Related Functions

Standards and Hygiene

Adhere to all Standards of Precaution, SDS and Hand Hygiene directives. Cleaning Method

Capable of completing patient room cleaning using the 7 Step cleaning method when performing Environmental Housekeeper duties. Training

Complete all mandatory training as designated and required; attend in-services. Quality and Productivity

Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement activities; maintain productivity and volume standards for the facility; stay current with policies and procedures. Other Duties

Perform other related duties not directly assigned. Qualifications

Education/Training

Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Must have working knowledge to access and use department computer systems such as Bed Management systems. Licensure/Certification
