EMCS, Inc. Description Are you a recent graduate or early-career engineer passionate about shaping the future of transportation infrastructure? Join our dynamic team as an Entry-Level Structural Engineer and begin your journey designing and detailing bridges and other infrastructure projects across the Midwest. You’ll gain hands-on experience while working alongside seasoned professionals on impactful projects that serve growing transportation needs. Responsibilities Include Complete the design calculations and plan preparation for both new bridge, bridge rehabilitation, and retaining wall projects in alignment with applicable design standards and specifications Perform in person site visits and inspections of existing bridges and culverts and prepare and submit required reports Complete concept development and perform bridge sizing of proposed structures Complete quantity computations, cost estimates, and special provisions required for structures projects Complete bridge load ratings EMCS, Inc. provides a wide range of civil engineering services including transportation engineering, structural engineering, traffic engineering, construction engineering, site development, environmental studies, and surveying. EMCS serves public and private clients in a variety of small and large-scale projects. The company was founded in 1983 and has offices in Milwaukee, Wausau, and Madison, Wisconsin; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Bergland, Michigan. Requirements BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering Previous internship experience in civil/structural engineering Strong interest in structural engineering and transportation infrastructure Familiarity with design standards and specifications (AASHTO, DOT guidelines) is a plus Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar) Proficiency with MS Office EIT registration a plus Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment Excellent communication skills Valid driver’s license EMCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer Seniority level
