Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal Protection and Control Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior Lead Technical position will interface with the Protection and Control Team on technical and project management assignments, project engineering, proposal management, and business development. The incumbent will ensure day-to-day client engagement, project and proposal coordination, project execution, resource planning, and hands-on technical solution delivery. The role is accountable to ensure project execution in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and Arcadis policies and procedures. The incumbent will work with other Power Delivery departments and Arcadis business units. The position involves coordinating the Power Delivery & Renewables (PD&R) team and performing hands-on protection & control engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients in North America. Collaboration with renewable energy teams (e.g., wind, solar, green H2) is expected. You will help improve quality of life as part of the PD&R team. Role accountabilities

Manage and grow Protection and Control team, ensuring resource planning and utilization on large/complex projects and performing quality reviews. Support, develop, and deliver utility, developer, and client projects from development conceptual one-line diagrams through detailed design and construction support. Coordinate with civil, structural, substation electrical, system planning and study, SCADA/telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages; review, perform, and QA all engineering studies necessary for detailed engineering packages. Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead to support services and drive regional business growth. Mentor junior team members; conduct QA/QC on work of engineers, designers, and technicians; participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution. Collaborate with the PD&R Leader to develop client development plans, account growth, resource planning, winning and execution strategy, and financial performance to achieve PD&R objectives. Travel up to 20% to client sites and meetings, within North America and potentially internationally. Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in system protection schemes, relay and control engineering design, relay selection, primary equipment interface requirements, communication systems and standards for transmission, substation, distribution, and generation systems for AIS and GIS substations in utility-scale, developer, or large industrial facilities Experience within Power Delivery Protection & Relay Control consultancy and understanding of power delivery, generation, and renewables businesses PE License Proficiency in critical engineering software (e.g., SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, AcSELerator, WinIGS) and design experience adhering to NEC, NESC, IEEE standards, and local codes Preferred Qualifications
