OVERVIEW Provide direction and leadership to the food safety team through the application of standards, implementation of food safety and quality assurance programs, and promotion of a site‑wide food safety culture and continuous improvement. Verify and ensure that foods produced and distributed through Sheetz Distribution Services adhere to established food safety & quality standards. Act as SQF Practitioner to the Sheetz Bros. Kitchen and Sheetz Distribution Center at assigned facilities and serve as a point of contact for food safety recalls, withdrawals, and complaints/issues relating to food safety and quality of foods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead an FSQA staff team and maximize development of internal talent through performance coaching, reviews, and developmental opportunities.

Align area objectives with strategic goals of the company and department.

Monitor annual budgets for the area of responsibility to maximize profitability.

Effectively communicate with all Corporate and SDS Management teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness of information, and adherence to food safety and regulatory programs.

Serve as Lead SQF practitioner for the SDS facility, overseeing development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, taking action to ensure system integrity, communicating essential information, developing and training substitute practitioners, and conducting validation and verification activities.

Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations; work with the FSQA Regulatory Team on product recalls, food defense/fraud, and related matters.

Oversee, train, and coordinate proper receiving, preparation, storage, and shipping of SDS products.

Verify compliance and drive continuous improvement across FSQA programs (SQF Systems, SOPs, SSOPs, HACCP, GMPs, GDPs, specifications, chemical testing, allergen control, traceability, packaging, food defense/fraud).

Supervise all data collection & product testing for online product compliance and internal specification requirements; maintain best practices for data collection, trending, and reporting.

Investigate and maintain documentation on product issues & complaints; coordinate CAPA program through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

Provide support to FSQA department leadership as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in food safety, science, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of Food Safety and Quality experience.

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required certifications within 1 year: Principles of Internal Auditing.

Hands‑on tools: hand tools and measuring devices.
