$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer who is excited to design, verify, and support the manufacturing of aviation-grade electronics that power next-generation actuators and mixed-signal systems. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor of the full hardware development lifecycle, from schematic capture and PCB design to simulation, verification, and production support. Responsibilities
Key contributor to the hardware design lifecycle of aviation electronics, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, communication bus design, and fabrication oversight. Partner with Mechanical Engineering to address integration, thermal management, and packaging challenges. Collaborate with Systems Engineering to align hardware capabilities with system requirements and certification plans. Build and run models to simulate performance under nominal and edge-case conditions; conduct detailed analyses such as DFMEA, fault tree, functional safety, part stress, DFM, DFT, and DFA. Develop and execute hardware verification strategies, including test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Support manufacturing through EOL test development, troubleshooting, and yield improvement efforts. Work with test teams on lab and system-level setup, debugging, and verification of actuator hardware. Maintain design records, documentation, and configuration control in compliance with DO-254 lifecycle requirements. Participate in supplier selection and evaluation, including COTS component assessments. Create task plans with dependencies and lead times to integrate into program master schedules. Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience developing and fielding electronics hardware for real-time systems, particularly in power electronics, digital circuitry, sensor interfacing, and communication bus design (CAN and other aviation buses). Graduate or higher degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Strong foundation in motor control, power conversion, and real-time embedded systems is a plus. Prior experience in aviation hardware development preferred; automotive or aerospace experience also valued. Hands-on proficiency with circuit simulation (SPICE), PCB tools (Altium, Simulink/MATLAB), test instrumentation, Python, and communication bus design. Familiarity with certification standards (DO-254, DO-160, ARPs) preferred; willingness to learn and apply required. Required Skills
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting – Able to dig deep into challenges and deliver robust, reliable solutions. Ownership & Accountability – Self-motivated, takes initiative, and drives projects to completion. Collaboration – Skilled at working across disciplines (mechanical, systems, test, manufacturing). Attention to Detail – Committed to accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. Adaptability – Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and technologies. Seniority level
