Responsibilities
Plan, develop, execute and commission process automation projects for steel manufacturing involving field sensors, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) – Siemens and Allen Bradley; HMIs (Wonderware, FactoryTalk, WinCC). Support manufacturing and maintenance operations; collaborate with Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance and Production teams to optimize production processes using Control System Theory. Prepare AC & DC motors and variable frequency drives and ISA-95 information layers spanning physical processes to business activities. Perform Ethernet network setup and troubleshooting; document control devices on switches. Develop industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet, Modbus) for data exchange between devices in automation systems. Manage data acquisition systems at hardware and software levels (e.g., IbaPDA, IbaHD, IbaAnalyzer). Collaborate with maintenance and production teams on CEA project preparation and execution; support data and control systems integration for Process and Metallurgical teams. Act as liaison with external contractors for industrial automation and modernization projects; ensure high reliability of the technological infrastructure to drive business results. Travel approximately 10% internationally and domestically for factory acceptance tests, meetings and trainings. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Process, Electronic, or Automation Engineering. Five (5) years of experience in controls and automation engineering and maintenance in an industrial setting. Experience with PLC installation, configuration and development (Siemens or Allen Bradley); HMIs development, troubleshooting and support (System Platform, InTouch, FactoryTalk View, or WinCC). Experience with Control System Theory and Ethernet network setup and troubleshooting. Experience developing Industrial Communication Protocol rules (Profinet, Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet, Modbus). Experience preparing AC & DC motors and drives and ISA-95 information layers that span physical processes to business activities.
