Position Summary The Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing detailed 3D mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation to support the engineering and production teams. This role helps turn conceptual designs into manufacturable solutions that meet customer specifications and project requirements.

Job Function The Mechanical Designer’s primary function is to develop detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation that support product design, manufacturing, and project delivery. This role ensures designs are accurate, meet customer specifications, comply with industry standards, and facilitate efficient production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Review project specifications, technical requirements, and design objectives

Develop 3D models and mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor

Collaborate closely with sales, project engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve design issues

Modify and update drawings based on feedback and final customer requirements

Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and perform basic engineering calculations to ensure integrity and compliance

Ensure drawings and documentation adhere to applicable codes and standards, including ASME

Support other engineering tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design, or equivalent experience

1-2 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (2024 or newer preferred)

Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and ability to interpret P&ID schematics

Familiarity with ASME codes and general fabrication standards

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
