Launch Engineer II (Rocket Transport)

The Opportunity
Join a pioneering launch team operating at the intersection of rocket stages, ground systems, payloads, and infrastructure. This is a rare chance to be hands-on with launch operations, transportation systems, and hardware that supports the full lifecycle of a next-gen launch vehicle—from first flight through reuse and high-cadence operations.
This team leads engineering for transporting first and second stages, offshore vessel logistics, and mobile ground support equipment. You’ll work side-by-side with vehicle design, launch site ops, and refurbishment teams to define processes that haven’t been built before.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design and develop mobile transport systems, fixed ground support equipment, and offshore support hardware Own the engineering, fabrication, and implementation of all critical transportation infrastructure Lead supplier relationships, compliance efforts, and safety processes Support launch and landing systems development, and contribute to broader infrastructure initiatives Create and track metrics around system performance and cost-effectiveness Work in dynamic, hands-on environments—including time spent on vessels, at launch pads, and across multiple US sites
What You Bring
Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar Proven experience with large/complex mechanical systems, ideally in aerospace or heavy transport Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Flexibility to work non-standard hours and travel to support launches and logistics Comfortable in outdoor/offshore environments
Bonus Experience (Nice To Have)
SPMT or multi-axle trailer operations Oversized load planning and execution Swept path or dynamic transport analysis tools Marine asset or vessel-based logistics exposure
