Quality Engineer

Job Description As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our aerospace and defense products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implement robust testing procedures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and systems for aerospace and defense components and systems.
Perform inspections, audits, and tests to verify product quality and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP).
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances, defects, and customer complaints.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into design and manufacturing processes.
Provide guidance on materials, processes, and tools to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
Support continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality improvement methodologies.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, test results, and audit findings.
Stay up to date with industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) as a Quality Engineer, preferably in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and industry standards for aerospace and defense.
Experience with root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action processes (e.g., 8D, Fishbone Diagram).
Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques such as CMM, micrometers, and calipers.
Strong understanding of statistical methods and data analysis (e.g., SPC, MSA, FMEA, CAPA).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software (e.g., SAP, Minitab).
Certifications in Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) or equivalent quality management certifications are a plus.
