Manufacturing Manager

Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & 6S Implementation:
Champion a safety-first culture with active participation in EH&S programs, audits, and employee engagement initiatives.
Implement and sustain a 6S workplace organization system (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain + Safety).
Ensure the facility and equipment are maintained to meet operational and safety standards, including preventive maintenance programs.
Aerospace Manufacturing Operations:
Plan, direct, and coordinate daily production operations to meet aerospace customer requirements and delivery targets.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace and defense quality standards.
Lead cross-functional teams through root cause and corrective action processes using structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why’s, 8D, and FMEA.
Lean and Continuous Improvement:
Serve as a Lean champion, driving a culture of continuous improvement (CI) across all manufacturing functions.
Lead Kaizen events, process mapping, waste elimination, and standard work development.
Analyze and improve KPIs such as OEE, first-pass yield, throughput, and cycle times.
Team & Resource Management:
Manage, develop, and mentor manufacturing supervisors and teams across machining, assembly, and maintenance.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to ensure seamless production and on-time delivery.
Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning based on customer demand and forecast.
Technical and Operational Leadership:
Support new product introduction (NPI) through design for manufacturability (DFM) and process readiness.
Leverage ERP and MES systems to ensure accurate scheduling, material availability, and traceability.
Drive accountability and ownership of production goals through clear communication and performance management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises manufacturing team members including production supervisors, machinists, and maintenance personnel.
Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.
Fosters a culture of teamwork, transparency, and continuous skill development aligned with aerospace standards.
Qualifications
Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
10+ years of experience in precision machining or advanced manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Aerospace manufacturing experience required, with working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance.
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, 6S workplace systems, and Six Sigma tools.
Lean Expert or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with aerospace-grade documentation and traceability.
Experience with data-driven decision-making and performance analytics (KPI tracking, dashboards, etc.).
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
