Overview
Experienced Electrical Power Design and Analysis Engineer role at Boeing. This position is 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK. The engineer will perform analyses to ensure safe and appropriate electrical power loading for various systems on air and space platforms, and provide electrical system power expertise to design and modification efforts of products being developed at Boeing. This position offers opportunities to develop new solutions, grow and mentor engineers, and may guide the candidate toward a Boeing Technical Fellowship candidacy. Responsibilities
Coordinate, test, and verify Electrical Power requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of Boeing systems. Review supplier and partner qualification data to ensure compliance with Boeing and FAA electrical power requirements. Perform Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) on multiple platforms in accordance with MIL-E-7016 and MIL-STD-704. Lead and coordinate work to translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications. Solve problems concerning and provide support for fielded hardware and software across the product lifecycle. Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, generating bids and requirements, and providing statements of work, budget, and schedule. Research technology advances for potential application to Boeing business needs. Model power generation, storage, and dissipation behavior of the Electrical Power Subsystem under various mission scenarios. Identify, track, and status technical performance measures to ensure compliance with requirements. Conduct detailed trade studies and generate reports to communicate engineering recommendations. Lead development of high-level and detailed designs aligned with requirements and specifications. Develop automated test equipment to support aircraft test requirements. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required): Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program. 5+ years of related work experience. Experience in the defense or aerospace industry. Experience writing/verifying Electrical Power requirements. Experience using power measurement test and measurement instrumentation (e.g., power supplies, power meters, analyzers). Familiarity with Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA) concepts and MIL-E-7016. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications (Desired): ABET-accredited Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering. Active U.S. Security Clearance. Experience in design, analysis, integration, and verification of Electrical Power generation, distribution, and/or regulation systems. Knowledge of Power Quality requirements and testing per MIL-STD-704. Experience with power simulation tools and scripting/programming for office products, test equipment, or modeling tools.
