Job Summary Hermitage Hall, a UHS facility, is currently seeking a Director Engineering/Plant Operations to join our team of dedicated professionals. Hermitage Hall, one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand‑alone psychiatric residential treatment Hospitals, licensed by Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a mental health residential treatment center for children and youth, has provided services to families for over 30 years. Located southwest of downtown Nashville, off I‑65 at the Wedgewood exit, our team of over 130 high‑quality employees describe working here as family‑oriented, therapeutic, value‑clarifying. Our nurses, mental health assistants, psychiatrist, and therapist serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually, with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in children and adolescents.

Director Engineering/Plant Operations directly supervises Maintenance and Housekeeping Employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities

Supervises and coordinates all physical plant projects, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Coordinates resources in response to emergency situation ensuring proper notification and documentation is completed.

Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure continuity of treatment.

Regularly monitors safety and cleanliness of facility and grounds; works with the Shift Managers and Lead Counselors to ensure security and safety issues are immediately reported and addressed.

Qualifications

High School diploma or G.E.D required, bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience working in a long term or residential healthcare related facility preferred.

Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience with 2 years of maintenance supervision experience.

Must be knowledgeable of HVAC, electrical, fire, and plumbing standards or codes.

Knowledge of CARF, OSHA and state licensing regulations.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be able to attend a mandatory, two­-week new hire orientation M-F 8:30 am‑4:30 pm.

This role requires a full background check including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.
