We are searching for an experienced Quality Engineer at our Plant 12-Fremont, IN facility. Dexter is a premier manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Advise on provisions to minimize quality issues
Develop and implement required quality documents
Perform regular process audits
Drive root cause and corrective actions – Own and lead the quality process
Work with Engineering and Production to address internal quality concerns and corrective actions
Prioritize quality improvement activities
Utilize quality improvement training, activities, and policies
Manage all documentation and reporting requirements for the quality system
Develop performance improvement targets for quality
Conduct customer surveys to solicit feedback
Perform statistical analysis and data analysis
Perform gage calibration, product testing, and maintain records
Participate in quality audits
Demonstrate hands-on mechanical capabilities, problem solving, leadership, conflict management, and team building in a productive team environment
Develop reports of product conformance
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or a related field and 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, preferably in high-volume metal fabrication (e.g. forming, cutting, and welding). Automotive or transportation sector experience is a plus.
