What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Software/Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to contribute to the continuous improvement of Manufacturing Test Equipment for our Energy Remanufacturing team in Buffalo, NY. The role involves improving, optimizing, and maintaining test equipment for the Energy lines, supporting debugging tasks, and enhancing legacy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate and contribute ideas for development and enhancement.
What You'll Do
Maintain LabVIEW, Python, TestStand, and Golang production test software.
Develop user interfaces and troubleshooting tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Optimize automated processes to reduce cycle time and increase uptime.
Validate data using statistical approaches such as Gage R&R and Cpk.
Design electrical control panels compliant with NFPA79/NEC/UL508A standards and create schematics.
Develop tests according to procedures for new and remanufactured components.
Support deployment of test equipment on-site.
Create troubleshooting and maintenance documentation.
Collaborate with technicians to acquire instruments and build fixtures for verification.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer.
Proficiency in test data analysis and automation tools like JMP, C/C++, Perl/Python in Windows and Linux.
Fluency in Golang, Python, JavaScript, with modern software development practices.
Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, EtherCAT, UDS.
Skills with Linux systems, Docker, and version control tools.
Knowledge of data infrastructure and visualization platforms like Telegraf, Kafka, Grafana.
Experience in commissioning test equipment and troubleshooting failures.
Knowledge of debugging communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, GPIB.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
