Job Description

We are partnering with a small, family-owned company seeking a Software Controls Engineer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This role is based 100% onsite at their West Milton facility and focuses on designing, programming, and supporting automation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controls engineering, PLC programming, and robotics integration.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control panels with strong skills in AutoCAD Electrical; AutoCAD is also acceptable. Program Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch. Implement data acquisition systems, including storing information on hard drives and integrating with SQL Server. Program industrial robots, primarily Fanuc, and utilize teach pendants for robot programming. Work with Keyence vision systems for inspection and automation tasks. Design and program HMI interfaces, primarily using Allen-Bradley platforms. Support SCADA-related tasks as needed. Collaborate with customers and internal teams on automation projects.

Essential Skills

Strong experience in control panel design and PLC programming from scratch. Experience with robot programming, especially Fanuc. Familiarity with data acquisition, SQL Server communications, and vision systems. Ability to work independently and take initiative without micromanagement. Comfortable in customer-facing situations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Schneider PLCs, Keyence sensors/vision, and SCADA systems. Background in automation, automotive, or robotics industries. Hands-on experience with motion programming, e.g., point A to point B movements. Typically manage 3 projects at a time.

Work Environment

The position offers a standard 40-hour workweek with flexible work hours (e.g., 6 AM–3 PM or 8 AM–5 PM). You will join a small, close-knit team currently consisting of 3 Controls Engineers. The work environment emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability, providing exposure to a variety of projects and technologies. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
