Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer with strong experience in PLC programming, robotics integration, and machine controls to join our automation engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, programming, and supporting industrial control systems and robotic automation used in manufacturing or production environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, other brands, etc.).
Integrate and commission industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa).
Develop HMI and SCADA systems for operator interfaces and system monitoring.
Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers during system design and integration.
Support installation, debugging, and startup of new machinery and automation systems.
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation and controls-related issues.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E).
Document all control system logic, interfaces, and safety systems for future maintenance and upgrades.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
3 plus years of experience in industrial controls and robotics integration.
Proficient in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text).
Hands-on experience with robotic systems and motion control technologies.
Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, Modbus, and industrial networking.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel occasionally for installations or support (30%).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
Knowledge of safety PLCs and safety circuit design.
Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT, and data integration technologies.
Professional certifications (e.g., Rockwell Certified Programmer, Siemens Certified Professional) are a plus.
We offer a generous salary of $100,000 - $125,000, PTO, 401k, and medical benefits. US citizenship, green card, or perm resident is required.
