Position Purpose The Continuous Improvement Process Engineer is a results-driven team member focused on optimizing existing manufacturing processes. This role drives operational efficiency by leading data-driven projects that reduce waste, improve line performance, and enhance product quality. Working closely with Production, QA, Engineering, and other departments, this individual identifies challenges on the floor and implements sustainable, cost-effective solutions. The role ensures that all improvements align with business goals while maintaining L&S’s high-quality standards and specifications. This is an onsite role that requires five days per week in our Stratham, NH office.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough analyses of current manufacturing processes to pinpoint areas for improvement.
Leverage recipe and product knowledge to identify opportunities where minor formulation or process tweaks can significantly improve line performance, minimize waste, and enhance product quality.
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Collaborate with R&D, quality, engineering, and production to translate product requirements into optimized manufacturing conditions.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, ensuring sustainability.
Provide training and mentorship to staff on continuous improvement techniques and best practices.
Partner with the T&E pillar to train staff on continuous improvement and LPW.
Collaborate with department supervision, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to identify chronic inefficiencies or process deviations tied to product characteristics.
Actively participate in LPW pillars and teams and ensure that continuous improvement strategies and key initiatives align with LPW and company goals.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of process changes and improvements.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies.
Regularly assess processes to ensure compliance and identify further improvement opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment (LPW, 5S, Six Sigma, TPM or similar).
Experience in chocolate manufacturing a plus.

Education
Associate’s degree or relevant experience (required).
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Total Rewards Compensation Range: $72,500 - $94,245.
