Overview

Erie Neighborhood House is a progressive social service agency serving the Chicago metropolitan area and dedicated to promoting a just and inclusive society. The READS Program Facilitator works full-time (32–40 hours per week) in partnership with Expanded Learning Programs. Their work directly impacts the Little Village Community. Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily READS activities and encourage student participation in an inclusive and safe classroom community. • Recruit and communicate with volunteer tutors, maintain an online volunteer recruitment presence, and provide daily lessons and attendance updates. • Plan lessons, parent workshops, special events like family reading nights, and maintain data and assessments that track student progress and family engagement. • Collaborate with colleges and universities to recruit volunteers and work closely with the Literacy Manager to support program goals. Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, or a related field (preferred). Obtain CPS Level 1 Volunteer Clearance upon hire. Ability to work well with a diverse group of learners, collaborate with the Erie team and volunteer tutors, and perform program administrative duties. Commitment to social justice and sensitivity to the assets and challenges of a diverse group of adult learners. Spanish fluency is a plus. Schedule

Erie House values employee time off and self‑care. The position has a varied schedule ranging from 32 to 40 hours per week. During the school year, Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am‑5:30 pm, and Friday, 10:30‑2:30. During the summer, Monday through Thursday, 9‑4, and Friday, 10:30‑2:30. An estimated 11 weeks at 40 hours will be scheduled for student assessment and special events. Benefits

Hourly compensation: $21.50–$23.00 based on experience.
