Data Visualization and Dashboard Business Analyst
The Digital Modernization sector within Leidos has an opening for a Business Analyst for the Global Solution Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This contract supports the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Location is virtual with in-person presence as needed in the Scott AFB, IL or Hill AFB area; candidate must live within driving distance of Scott AFB or Hill AFB. Overview
The Business Analyst will work with customers to capture business and user requirements, translate them into actionable user stories with acceptance criteria, refined datasets and analytics solutions. This role collaborates with product owners, IT/network data engineers, data architects, and data visualization/dashboard experts to advance data-driven decision making and ensure compliance with DoD data and security standards. The BA will author and peer-review a range of documents including functional, technical, training, planning and roadmaps. Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and prioritize requirements for agency data integration and analytics initiatives. Capture requirements as user stories and acceptance criteria in the product backlog; ensure clarity, testability, and alignment with mission needs. Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of objectives and deliverables. Refine backlog items with the Product Owner and Scrum team; groom user stories and define the Definition of Done. Develop visualizations, reports, and dashboards that communicate insights to mission and business stakeholders. Support data unification, visualization, and predictive modeling by translating mission objectives into technical tasks. Assist in the design and validation of experiments, predictive models, and AI/ML-driven analytics within the GMS environment. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives). Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD IA policies, and other security requirements in development and integration activities. Document data attributes, definitions, and acceptable values for stakeholders; promote organizational alignment and understanding. Conduct stakeholder training as needed and participate in data governance forums as required. Collaborate with developers on designing and developing integrations that connect Master Data with other systems. Work in an agile environment with cross-functional teams and independently with limited direction as needed. Participate in User Acceptance Testing and identify improvements. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience, with 8-12 years of professional experience; or 6-10 years with a related master's degree. Active Secret US Government Clearance. 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Agile/Scrum environments. Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Kibana, Power BI, Tableau). Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK stack). Experience with networking and internet protocols. Experience supporting data-driven projects including data modeling, unification, and analytics. Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to bridge business and technical perspectives. Experience with JIRA and Confluence. Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, systems engineers and architects. Active Security Plus Certification (or other 8570-appropriate certification) or ability to obtain one quickly. Preferred Qualifications
Experience eliciting and analyzing Mission Dashboard requirements. Experience assisting in the design and validation of data visualizations and dashboards. Domain knowledge in data processing, data science, or related field. Prior support of DISA, DoD, or federal government data initiatives.
