Macdonald & Company has been exclusively retained to appoint Project Managers and Senior Project Managers for a national developer of multifamily and affordable housing. With 20+ projects under construction and 10–15 new starts annually, this is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth platform delivering large-scale, ground-up projects across multiple markets. As a PM/SPM, you will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and financial performance. You’ll work closely with development leadership, subcontractors, and design partners — while mentoring junior staff and playing a critical role in scaling the construction team. Responsibilities

Manage all phases of assigned projects, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and quality control. Serve as the main point of contact for ownership, development partners, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee subcontractor coordination, procurement, and contract execution. Lead pre-construction activities, including budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and permitting support. Develop project schedules and phasing plans, ensuring alignment with development objectives. Prepare and manage budgets, cost reports, and forecasts; identify and mitigate risks proactively. Track project performance against goals for cost, schedule, and quality. Ensure all work complies with company standards, contracts, safety protocols, and regulations. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and maintain quality. Resolve issues quickly to keep projects on track. Oversee site teams and field operations as needed. Mentor project engineers, assistant PMs, and other junior team members. Foster collaboration with design, development, and construction leadership to ensure seamless project delivery. Qualifications

6–12+ years of progressive construction project management experience (SPM at the higher end). Proven success managing ground-up multifamily or affordable housing projects. Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and industry standards. Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor negotiation, and cost reporting. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Seniority level
