BD Nogales Norte . Job Description Summary: Responsible for directing and managing all financial and human resource activities for the Supply Chain Department. Reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Sumter BD Specimen Management manufacturing facility. Responsible for ensuring excellence in the plant-wide supply chain processes, enabling product availability for customers and components availability for BD sister plants and business partners. Enables supply chain CI by advising functional peers on business trends, cross-functional opportunities, formulating product flow scenarios, and facilitating business revenue optimization strategic and tactical planning. Must have experience in these areas: Purchasing

Responsible for purchasing all raw materials, component parts, MRO materials and capital equipment required to meet production schedules and to support plant operations. Oversees issuing of purchase orders and change notices as required for materials and components and establishes proper lead times to meet manufacturing production schedules. Guides and coordinates Purchasing and Supplier Quality personnel toward quick and efficient corrective action processing of non-conforming raw materials. Planning

Ensures validity of demands by attending demand debrief and asking for regional rationales justifying certain changes. Aligns with Global Supply Chain groups on volume or mix. Makes recommendations for schedule changes that optimize equipment, personnel, materials, and time. Facilitates planning discussions with global supply chain to balance plant efficiencies and forecast/global supply chain requests. Reviews master production schedules driven from the SCM system and managed by the plant Production Planning group to ensure requirements align with capacities and that finished goods inventory meets customer service requirements. Reviews global requirements for Rubber and Injection Molding to ensure in-house and sister-site requirements are supported. Communicates and formulates strategies to mitigate concerns when component supply concerns arise. Oversees in-depth search for new suppliers for improved materials in quality and cost reduction programs; if materials are One Company Procurement managed, works with OCP to identify suppliers that meet goals. Consolidates worldwide demand for cannula and coordinates with BD Medical Segment to meet year-ahead demand. Master Data Management

Understands production control systems and functions to set up and maintain schedules and to record/report all activities. Manages development and implementation of procedures, practices, workflows, and operation sequences for maximum efficiency and accuracy. Applies established principles to revise, modify, initiate, and maintain Materials Control documentation as required to support ISO/QSR/SOX requirements. Finds opportunities for improvement and champions transformation with support for change initiatives and adherence to best-in-class practices. Product Sorting

Process owner for optimizing disposition of nonconforming material across business units in coordination with quality. Coaches on standard processes to minimize inventory held at the plant. Follows up with Business Management Teams as required. Sterilization

Maintains talent and coordination to protect the plant’s Gamma sterilizer bottleneck. Maintains high efficiency through problem solving and improvement initiatives. Liaises with Sterilization Assurance and Microbiology Lab groups to identify/share standard processes and obtain global support. Identifies and implements cost-saving initiatives contributing to plant CI/C2W efforts. Shipping

Maintains talent and coordination to protect product flow from the plant to the appropriate DCs/BD plant. End To End Supply Chain Leadership

Directs 3 Managers responsible for Inbound, Outbound and Planning within the Supply Chain. Coaches and supports them toward improvements; fosters a fair and fulfilling work environment. Represents the Sumter plant in monthly Integrated Reconciliation Meetings with Divisional Product Family Platform leaders. Prepares capacity analyses with each BU; aligns with Finance on investments; reviews areas of concern and escalates as needed. Follows up with CI leadership as needed; presents plant-wide capacity outlook and aligns with business units. Works with Business Integrators on strategic projects (e.g., transfers, make-vs-buy, risk mitigation, business continuity). Acts as facilitator for Corporate partners through the Sumter plant. Responsible for accuracy and issuance of reports to Accounting, Local and Corporate Management for budgets, forecasts, production status, inventories, backorders and shipments. Defines inventory strategies to meet business needs while minimizing investments; ensures achievement of inventory targets (Raw Materials, WIP, FG). Develops quantitative and qualitative goals and coaches managers on strategies for their areas. Oversees Supply Chain exempt personnel, including coaching, counseling, training and performance management. Networks with central functions to align with BD initiatives such as Control Tower and transformation projects (digitalization of data/processes). Additional Responsibilities

Perform other duties as required by Sumter Plant Manager. Ability to travel up to 25%. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

BS Degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing. Minimum of 15 years manufacturing experience preferred. Excellent communication skills. Effective negotiation skills to support purchasing. Ability to handle ambiguity and change. Proficient with SAP and APRISO systems. Work Environment
