We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Category Manager to support Intel’s IT stakeholders across the IT Software and Cloud landscape. This role will require extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, leading RFP’s/supplier selections and contract negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute commodity strategies, and drive supplier development through innovation and collaboration.
Maintain advanced knowledge of industry and market dynamics, and apply commodity expertise to drive supply chain solutions ahead of Intel's needs.
Leverage strong understanding of contracting and negotiating, risk mitigation, and supplier relationship management to manage supplier relationships and provide sustainable cost, quality, availability, and technology solutions in adherence to procurement policies.
Own relationships and coordinate purchasing activities with cross‑functional teams to acquire materials and services in a cost‑effective and timely manner.
Ensure that the respective commodity meets the business demand and cost requirements necessary for Intel to develop great products/services for its customers.
Work closely with partner teams and suppliers to define standard and custom product requirements, influence design decisions to meet desired product/service demand and fulfil the business objective.
Capture commodity requirements and understand how design can influence cost and give feedback.
Conduct periodic executive reviews of commodity sourcing strategy in partnership with internal teams/customers to shape strategic business objectives and account investments through aligned roadmaps.
Review and pivot sourcing strategy when required in response to changing market conditions and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity.
Work closely with finance/legal to resolve disputes with suppliers/internal partners.
Lead sustainability and regulatory compliance and ensure suppliers comply with Intel's business processes.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive supply chain optimization, understand affordability, set cost targets, and define cost reduction roadmaps through detailed understanding of supplier financial targets, business objectives, and margins.
As a Successful Candidate, You Must Possess
Strong understanding of contracting, negotiating, risk mitigation, and supplier relationship management.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Proven skills to influence design decisions and drive strategic business objectives.
Skills to adapt to changing market conditions and develop mitigation plans to ensure business continuity.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business administration, industrial engineering, economics, supply chain or related field of study.
3+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in supply chain or related field of study.
8+ years of experience in SW category supplier management, SW contract negotiation, and sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
