Overview
Open Recruitment for Transportation Engineer I – Materials and Geotechnical, Anne Arundel County - Hanover Complex. Grade 14 (8439). Online applications are required to be considered. Position : Transportation Engineer I – Materials and Geotechnology Track Location: Office of Materials Technology (OMT), Anne Arundel County, Hanover Complex Responsibilities
Perform engineering duties in support of project development, highway infrastructure, asset management, construction projects and condition assessments. In a learning capacity, conduct materials certification reviews, materials QA/QC testing/evaluation in the laboratory and in the field, and use test results in pavement/geotechnical design. Perform hands-on forensic evaluations of structures, prepare inspection reports, and make repair recommendations under the direction of an experienced engineer. Communicate with contractors, engineers, and OMT personnel to complete tasks clearly and efficiently. Review, understand, and explain project documents, specifications, and drawings to contractors, and attend pre-construction and progressive meetings as needed, acting as a liaison between District, OMT, and contractors. Qualifications
Education:
Possession of a bachelor\'s degree in agricultural engineering, civil engineering, or environmental engineering from an accredited college or university. Experience:
None required. Note:
Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements. Applicants within ten (10) months of meeting the minimum qualifications may apply. For foreign degrees, transcripts must be evaluated course-by-course by an approved entity (see listed options) with verification submitted within three (3) days of application submission.
