The Department As one of the largest departments in Washington County, the Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) has over 300 professionals, an annual budget of over $579 million, and five divisions: Planning and Development Services; Capital Project Services; Engineering, Traffic, and Survey; Operations and Maintenance; Administrative Services. We work on building and maintaining transportation systems, land use planning, permitting, engineering, and road maintenance services. The Position The Building Services Supervisor oversees the Building Permit Technician Team, coordinating building permit issuance, monitoring design and land use plan reviews, and responding to public inquiries. The role involves working with permitting software, collaborating with the Building Official and other managers to improve procedures, promote customer service, and implement process improvements. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced supervisor with strong customer service skills, familiar with permitting software, and able to build productive relationships within the department and with community members. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, plus 2 years of supervisory experience in construction or plan review, OR - 4 years of journey-level experience in inspections or plan review, plus 2 years of supervisory experience. Additional Requirements Possession of a valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
