TotalEnergies has ambitions to develop and operate renewable power generation in the US. TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America Inc. will support this activity on a physical scheduling and commercial/marketing basis. US electricity markets are complex and volatile, requiring an excellent understanding of risks. The activity involves strong interrelationships and correlations between electricity and other commodities like gas or coal. The increasing share of renewables in the energy mix places this role at the heart of the Gas, Renewable, and Power branch. Responsibilities Operate within delegated Trading Authority Limits. Follow Compliance rules and directives. Contribute to the financial trading P&L. Execute power trading strategies on wholesale markets (physical & financial) within limits, under N+1 guidance. Adhere to the Code of Conduct and all company policies. Mission as a Senior Power Trader Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of US Power markets across multiple ISOs. Create and update market models and analysis tools, including forward curves and market reports. Contribute to power trading strategy, identifying new products and markets. Manage trading strategies and communicate their rationale to management. Coordinate with operational teams for physical position management and scheduling. Support commercial efforts for electricity purchase/sale and other power contracts. Maintain good relationships with internal departments: risk control, finance, HR, compliance, legal. Stay informed about financial market regulations. Build and maintain relationships with market stakeholders: affiliates, counterparties, brokers, exchanges, ISOs. Dimensions Participate in daily speculative trading activities and collaborate with teams to maximize P&L. Identify new opportunities in ISO markets to grow electricity trading activities. Establish scope, systems, procedures, and obtain approvals for new market activities. Qualifications and Experience University degree with strong mathematical, economic, or finance knowledge. Strong analytical skills and understanding of energy markets. 15+ years of relevant industry experience in electricity, gas, and renewables/emissions sectors.
