Brown University Health . The Nurse Practitioner will report to the Director of Surgical Services, Manager of PAT, and the Chief of Anesthesiology. The position oversees pre-admission testing for patients requiring or requesting anesthesia assessment and acts as an educator, consultant, and liaison to healthcare providers across the care continuum. Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across settings. Provide leadership in the development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model. Assist the healthcare team in achieving mutually agreed-upon healthcare goals by providing necessary support, education, and encouragement. Demonstrate advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of family dynamics, especially as it applies to the surgical patient. Demonstrate a general understanding of anesthesia techniques and surgical procedures, correlating this with assessment findings. Provide and communicate expert consultation for clinical issues to the surgeon or anesthesia provider to promote surgical clearance for evaluated patients. Facilitate patient/family education in the area of expertise. Complete mandatory safety infection control and BLS/ACLS training as required. Minimum Qualifications
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as an RN in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NCLS). Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master\'s degree. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to practice in the expanded role with prescriptive privileges. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Experience
Clinical experience as a nurse practitioner for 2 years is preferred, or nursing experience in surgery, ICU, Neuro, or Cardiology. Must have patient care services, procedures, and privileges approved by the sponsoring physician. Compensation
Pay Range:
$125,000.00-$158,593.75 Location and Schedule
