Summary of Duties: This position is for an Electrical Engineer II in the Electrical Purchased Products Engineering Department Participate in establishing and reviewing specifications for new products and components Reviews test procedures and product and process capability studies, audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work Prepares reports, analyzes discrepancies, and makes recommendations for product, procedures and manufacturing or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce flow time Assists in the preparation of product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, and test equipment designs Interacts with and presents to the Design Agency (DA), suppliers and/or internal organizations such as the Integrated Supply Chain to assist in resolving design, development, procurement, acceptance processes Provides technical assistance in appropriate assigned field Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flow time, and enhance operational surety Influences technical direction and decision-making regarding part(s) selection, processing, and evaluation Proficient in testing parts and understanding construction and material science - i.e. Physics of Failure Knowledgeable of all industry specifications WRT Commercial Electrical Parts and their application at the piece part level
You Must Have: US citizenship to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy "Q" level security clearance Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline (e.g., Nuclear, Material Science), or Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from an ABET accredited institution/program Two (2) or more years of applied experience in progressively challenging engineering roles in a technical or manufacturing environment
We Value: Background with Active/Passive parts testing at component level Experience with Active/Passive components manufacturing processes (OEM) Engineering drawings review for non-conformance/manufacturability for electronic parts Continued Professional Development with Physics of Failure and related subjects Background with failure analysis and recommendations for corrective actions 6 Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred Experience in establishing manufacturing & quality systems is beneficial
