Manufacturing Engineer – 5-Axis CNC and Additive Machining
StarHagen Aerospace Components is an AS9100 certified manufacturing company serving customers in the space, energy, and defense sectors. We specialize in complex multi‑axis subtractive machining and additive manufacturing/3D printing.
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying CNC programs to produce precision parts. The ideal candidate will have extensive Mastercam multi‑axis programming experience. Experience with aerospace parts and standards is a plus. Familiarity with DMLS/LPBF metal 3D printing is desirable.
Responsibilities
Serve as site technical liaison and subject matter expert
Develop and modify CNC programs
Set up and operate, when necessary, CNC machines to fabricate parts according to specifications
Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize machining processes
Create manufacturing plans for new parts (programming, workholding design, tooling design, operation flow, etc.)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC programs or machine operations
Maintain documentation of programming changes and updates per QMS
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and AS9100/ITAR regulations
Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC Programmer responsible for high‑complexity parts.
Proficiency in programming languages for Okuma OSP controls (preferred).
Strong knowledge of Mastercam is a requirement. CAMplete/Fusion/SolidWorks experience is a plus. Post‑processor modification experience is a plus.
Mastery of machining processes and an interest in the latest technology trends.
Extensive knowledge of tooling and cutting parameters.
Experience with non‑ferrous materials, performance stainless steels, titanium alloys and nickel superalloys.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of GD&T and how it relates to process approach.
Experience with precision measuring instruments such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
This is a first shift M‑F position, but occasional off shifts may be required depending on business need. A 4‑10 schedule can be arranged for the right candidate.
Must be US Citizen or permanent resident (per ITAR).
