Senior Engineer, Rotating Equipment
at Venture Global LNG Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a supplier of liquefied natural gas from two Louisiana-based export projects that service global natural gas demand and support long-term clean, reliable North American energy supplies. The company uses proven, innovative plant design configurations and modular, mid-scale plant design to replace traditional designs with the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. The successful candidate shall be a technical subject‑matter expert for rotating equipment, with in‑depth understanding of turbines (gas & steam) and motors, and driven equipment such as generators, compressors and pumps. The incumbent shall also be familiar with supporting components and systems such as couplings, bearings, lubrication and sealing systems (dry gas seals and mechanical seals). Working knowledge in compressor performance and vibration analysis is key to this role. Responsibilities
Serve as a resident company subject‑matter expert, providing advice and guidance on rotating equipment system engineering issues. Provide daily‑to‑day rotating equipment and mechanical systems support to the maintenance and operations teams to ensure continued operability of plant equipment. Provide advanced diagnostic support to allow rapid production recovery in the event of equipment failure and forced plant outage. Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) exercises, including summarizing causes and recommendations and presenting to concerned parties. Provide interpretation and evaluation services of reliability technician analysis and recommendations from predictive programs. Support the maintenance team for turnaround planning and execution. Track availability and improve overall reliability for plant equipment and evaluate workflow processes, identify critical spares, spare parts storage and preservation requirements for rotating equipment systems throughout the plant. Lead initiatives to fine‑tune and improve existing maintenance practices to achieve a cost‑effective, safe and robust maintenance strategy. Qualifications
Education and Certifications: Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline; mechanical engineering focus preferred; professional engineering license preferred. Experience: Eight to ten (8‑10) years in a senior engineering capacity with rotating and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting; oil and gas experience required, with preference in LNG applications; petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing or other hydrocarbon processing experience acceptable. Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (frames & aero‑derivatives) and compressors (including compressor performance) required. Knowledge of CMMS systems, RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis, management of change (MoC), process hazard analysis (PHA) required. Venture Global LNG is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, non‑disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis covered by appropriate law.
