The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities. This position requires willingness to travel to other locations as needed to provide coverage and to work at multiple locations (Edison, NJ and Old Bridge, NJ). This is an in-person role with hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience specifically in vascular ultrasound — arterial, carotid, venous duplex, and aorta. Responsibilities

Performs procedures according to departmental format, completing exam in allotted time. Performs required daily clerical duties, including EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer systems, patient scheduling, and other systems as added by Medical Center. Performs portable ultrasound exams. Performs a variety of complex technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound. Assists physicians with ultrasound-guided interventional procedures and color-flow ultrasound as required. Determines, prepares, and sets up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, and positions patients for each view. Evaluates technical quality of images; processes images of pathogenic conditions in accordance with standard procedures or techniques. Maintains records of ultrasound taken, archiving and de-archiving data as required; calculates and records data from numerical readings on patient charts and related documents. Calibrates, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on equipment; cleans and sterilizes instruments and supplies; stocks and replenishes supplies as required. Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents. Greets patients on arrival for their exam adhering to A.I.D.E.T. standards. Responsible for scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends; overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care. On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy. Adheres to policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality. Identifies patient population needs and delivers care tailored to those needs (age, culture, language, accessibility, etc.). Performs daily and monthly QA tasks. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes/pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours per day. Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite). Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

Minimum of one year of clinical experience in ultrasound. Licenses and Certifications Required

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Sonography Certification (ARRT, S) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider within 60 days of entering position. Compensation
