Under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, provides simulation and radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians, following established standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates and directs the daily activities of Staff Radiation Therapists.

Oversees, instructs, and evaluates Staff Radiation Therapists in the administration of Simulation and Linear Accelerator treatments.

Verifies, delivers, and documents prescribed radiation therapy, ensuring compliance with departmental procedures and best practices.

Explains procedures to patients and ensures their clinical, physical, and psychological needs are met.

Collaborates with Physicians, Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Nurses to ensure smooth operations.

Addresses issues or problems to the Chief Radiation Therapists when necessary.

Participates in lead therapist meetings to coordinate activities and ensure effective communication.

Assists with the orientation, supervision, and training of new hires and evaluates staff skills regularly.

Assists in preparing work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage.

Provides feedback for performance reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Supervises and evaluates student work, ensuring adherence to teaching processes.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program.

B.S. degree preferred.

Professional ARRT certification is mandatory.

Minimum of five years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, including leadership roles.

Technical expertise with the ability to organize, prioritize, and remain calm in stressful situations.

At least three years of experience in a leadership role.
