What You’ll Do For Our Patients
Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants on patient care management, organization and communication
Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, including x-ray to assist in diagnosis or treatment across all age groups
Job Description The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to examine and treat GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role performs technical procedures and applies ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, analyzes patient x-rays, and reports results to Medical Providers. Also provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. The RT collaborates with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients to support patient care management, organization and communication.
Job Requirements Education
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (ARC or AHA)
ARRT registration required
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
Essential Functions
Responsible for x-ray services as needed
Perform x-ray services under clinical provider direction for patients from newborn to elderly
Position patients correctly and protect during use
Assist with patient movement as needed
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow and prepare patients for examination
Conduct interviews to verify patient information and record medical history; confirm purpose of visit
Perform preliminary vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed
Conduct point of care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG) and provide information to the provider
Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
Conduct courtesy follow-up calls for patient care
Follow operating instructions for daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs and submit repair tickets as needed
Other Responsibilities
Support clinic operations and collaborate with the Provider to determine necessary procedures
Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and safety
Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results
Set radiographic controls for clear, high-quality images
Maintain and clean X-ray equipment; manage supplies
Adhere to radiation safety protocols (ALARA)
Document procedures in electronic systems and logs
Verify image quality and ensure delivery to radiologists for interpretation
Knowledge
Knowledge of X-ray procedures, anatomy and physiology related to imaging
Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards
Skills
Position patients properly for X-ray procedures
Identify equipment problems and notify supervisor
Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
Meet criteria for Sign On Bonus (eligibility discussed with recruiter)
