The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an independent, non‑profit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. Our researchers are working to unravel the mysteries of heart and kidney disease, cardiac complications in newborns, chronic lung disease, skin cancer, sickle cell disease, autoimmune disorders, and many other conditions. Many projects are collaborative, involving experts from different areas of specialization. Our discoveries have prevented blindness in newborns, enabled premature infants with fragile lungs to breathe and allowed children with rare, often fatal diseases to grow up healthy and strong. Position: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Specialty Program
Base pay range: $80,000 – $108,000 per year (pay will be adjusted based on skills and experience). Essential Functions
Implement Medical‑Financial Partnership program activities and coordinate services across care settings. Ensure continuity and coordination of services and optimize service delivery. Supervise and support junior MSW team members, trainees, and interns. Develop and strengthen key care team and community partnership relations, communications, and care linkages. Provide direct clinical support for the interdisciplinary program to promote relationship‑centered care for expecting parents and parents of young children, including structural, economic, and social drivers of health. Collect relevant clinical measures for patient care, program support, and evaluation. Document and maintain accurate administrative processes related to educational roles and leadership support. Assist in recruitment and placement of social work interns and maintain relationships with schools of social work. Facilitate multidisciplinary team conferences to discuss client progress and develop care plans. Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with health care team members and community agencies to support service connections. Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate school (Council on Social Work Education) and two years of clinical social work experience. Valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences. Associate Clinical Social Worker registration maintained continuously until licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Valid California Class C Driver License or ability to utilize alternative transportation. Desirable Qualifications
At least five years post‑degree experience working in a multidisciplinary team within an integrated care and/or medical setting assessing psychosocial needs of patients and families. At least five years post‑degree experience providing clinical social work services in prenatal, infant, family, and/or early childhood mental health settings and developing interventions/care plans. Spanish language fluency. Seniority Level
