Animal Ark Veterinary Hospital, Elkin, NC, understands the value of the relationship between a pet and its owner and the importance of providing the best veterinary care possible to your pets. The reason we chose the name “Animal Ark of Elkin” is because we set out to help all of God’s creatures to the best of our ability. Our veterinary services are available for dogs, cats, birds, small pocket pets, and some reptiles. We have specialized services for our avian and poultry family members.
Position Purpose
We are currently a three-doctor practice and we are very excited to add a new veterinarian to our team! Our support staff is all cross-trained in all aspects of the business, as one of our main goals is to empower our employees to utilize their skill set and knowledge in its entirety. Our ideal veterinarian is someone who is professional, family-oriented and is a strong team player.
We encourage veterinarians of all experience levels to apply as our current doctors are all eager to mentor and learn from a new graduate!
Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries. Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results. Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options. Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed. Provide counsel around pet end of life care. Maintain patients’ medical records. Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution. Appropriate state licensure. Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients. Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
