Overview
Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer I/II/III - Ob/Gyn MFM role at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). Join UTHealth Houston Maternal Fetal Medicine as a Sonographer, responsible for scanning routine and comprehensive MFM ultrasounds utilizing high-definition ultrasound technology to detect fetal anomalies and prevent adverse outcomes related to fetal complications and maternal disease under supervision of the MFM Sonographer. Position Location: UTHealth Houston Maternal Fetal Medicine, 6410 Fannin St, Houston, TX 77030. Schedule: Full-Time, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Position Key Accountabilities
Performs high-level, detailed obstetrical ultrasounds on high-risk patients at multiple clinical sites. Conducts Comprehensive Anatomical Surveys, Fetal Pulsed and Color Doppler Studies to assess suspected fetal anomalies, fetal growth restriction, placental complications, and other adverse outcomes. Includes Biophysical Profile Testing, Fetal Growth Surveys, Nuchal Translucency Measurements, First Trimester Scans, and Transvaginal Ultrasound to assess cervical and placental complications. Utilizes a variety of ultrasound imaging techniques (Transabdominal, Transvaginal, 3D/4D, Doppler) to evaluate fetal and uterine physiology. Provides ultrasound guidance for in-office procedures such as amniocentesis. Manages high-risk patient cohorts and communicates findings to the attending MFM Physician and appropriate staff (OB residents, NPs, PAs, CNMs) to aid in the diagnostic process under supervision. Obtains detailed patient history to assess maternal conditions and prior outcomes that may impact current pregnancy and the need for ultrasound surveillance. Performs Fetal Echocardiogram Screening on high-risk patients and coordinates referral to Pediatric Cardiology for confirmation and treatment under supervision. Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment and related sterilization processes. Maintains logs, keeps workspace clean, and assists with supply ordering. Participates in data collection for research studies for the OBGYN and MFM Departments. Performs other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills

Adapts to multiple priorities under supervision, including organizing workflow and problem solving. Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) to perform essential job functions, especially regarding safety and security. Provide exemplary customer service and effective communication with physicians, families, and co-workers. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by ARDMS required. OB/GYN RDMS by ARDMS within one year of employment required. Minimum Education
Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s); AMA-approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography accredited by CAAHEP required. Associate's Degree required. Minimum Experience
