Salary Level III $4,961 to $6,043 per month (SR-20, Step D to I) Level IV $5,369 to $6,535 per month (SR-22, Step D to I) Level V $6,043 to $7,351 per month (SR-24, Step D to I)

Level III Responsibilities Assists a higher level Public Health Educator in conducting informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of a public health program; or, participates in developing, organizing and conducting part of the informational and educational aspects of a public health program or of a particular public health project under the close supervision of a higher level Public Health Educator; and performs other duties as required.
Level IV Responsibilities Plans, develops, organizes, and conducts informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of public health; and performs other duties as required.
Level V Responsibilities Plans, develops, organizes, and conducts informational and educational programs concerning various aspects of public health; participates in overall program development and evaluation; assists in the recruitment, training, and supervision of lower-level Public Health Educators and others; and performs other duties as required.
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
Specialized Experience Requirement
Level III : Two (2) years Knowledge of basic principles and practices of public health education; Ability to present ideas effectively, organize educational programs, assist in planning and conducting training programs, and write reports.
Level IV : Three (3) years Knowledge and abilities including thorough understanding of public health education practices, ability to plan, organize, conduct educational programs, direct activities of committees, conduct studies, interpret public health philosophy, and aid in training programs.
Level V : Four (4) years Professional experience in community health education, with knowledge of supervision principles and abilities to apply supervisory techniques and effectively supervise others.

Substitution of Education for Experience
A master’s degree in public health from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of the Specialized Experience.
A doctoral degree in public health or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
Selective Certification Specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities may be required to perform the duties of some positions. For such positions, Selective Certification Requirements may be established and certification may be restricted to eligibles who possess the pertinent experience and/or training required to perform the duties of the position.
