MD Live Casino and Hotel is accepting applications for a Stationary Engineer in the Facilities Department. Under general supervision, to serve as the operating Engineer on a shift in the Central Power Plant, responsible for the operations and maintenance of gas and oil-fired boilers, central air conditioning equipment, and the supporting auxiliary equipment needed to provide uninterrupted heating and cooling to the facility.

MD Live Casino and Hotel is accepting applications for a Stationary Engineer in the Facilities Department. Under general supervision, to serve as the operating Engineer on a shift in the Central Power Plant, responsible for the operations and maintenance of gas and oil-fired boilers, central air conditioning equipment, and the supporting auxiliary equipment needed to provide uninterrupted heating and cooling to the facility.

Shift Needed:

3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-8:00am

Responsibilities

Operates boilers, chillers, air conditioning equipment, and ancillary equipment efficiently as prescribed by the Chief Engineer

Read gauges and meters, and record readings indicating conditions of operating equipment and systems.

Lubricate fans, pumps, motors, and other ancillary equipment.

Keeps maintenance records and records of materials and supplies.

Monitors BAS and adjusts as needed.

Regularly tours plants and inspects equipment during the shift.

Assist maintenance techs as needed with work in the Casino and Hotel

Accurately communicate all issue to the Chief Engineer

Skills to Help You Succeed

Thorough knowledge of and skill in applying OSHA regulations related to the central plant boiler facility operations.

Thorough knowledge of and skill in applying the principles of electricity, hydraulics, and mechanics.

Skill in maintaining boilers, chillers, and their auxiliaries; in the use and maintenance of the tools and equipment used in stationary engineering; in the use and storage of required fuels.

Ability to read gauges, and judge operating efficiency and safety conditions of boiler and operations; to oversee and coordinate shift operations of the central plant facility; understand the operation of and maintenance of AHU systems.

Qualifications Must-Haves:

Education:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Five years’ experience in the operation of a boiler room facility, three years of which involved boilers over 200 horsepower and chillers in excess of 500 tons.

Ability to understand and operate a building automation system, preferably Siemens, desigo/insight.

Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Candidate must possess a valid MD driver’s license or equivalent with no more than 5 points.

Licensure as a Thrid Grade Stationary Engineer in the State of Maryland required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to:

Work in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery.

Work from ladders and scaffolding.

Manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert force up to 70 lbs.

Concurrently manipulate multiple controls on machinery and equipment.

Work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces and adverse weather and temperature conditions.

Wear and work in personal protective equipment.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Use of stairs and elevators
