The primary Automation Engineer function is to lead and support automation and controls-related initiatives across our client’s manufacturing sites. This includes the specification, implementation, and optimization of automated systems and control networks to improve safety, reliability, quality, and productivity. The Automation Engineer will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to execute capital investment projects, troubleshoot, and resolve controls issues, and support the sites in modernizing operations through advanced automation technologies. Locations
Candidates can choose to base themselves in either our client’s Louisville, KY office, or at their office in eastern Pennsylvania, near Allentown. Responsibilities
Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, primarily using Siemens (TIA Portal) and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000) platforms. Develop logic in ladder logic and structured text/statement list formats. Develop and implement automation and control system strategies for process improvement, system reliability, and capital projects. Support AVEVA (Wonderware) InTouch HMI/SCADA systems and AVEVA Historian for trending, alarming, and visualization. Specify and configure field instrumentation devices (Endress+Hauser, Krohne, Emerson Rosemount). Interface with VFD drives, motor starters, and motor control systems.
