PSYCHOLOGIST I - Juvenile Forensic Evaluator - Statewide Join to apply for the PSYCHOLOGIST I - Juvenile Forensic Evaluator - Statewide role at Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). Responsibilities

Performs the equivalent of 12 court-ordered evaluations for competency or restoration of competency per month. Provides written reports detailing opinions on competency, including explanations of barriers to competency when applicable, and information required by law (e.g., C.R.S 19-2.5). May be subpoenaed to testify to inform the court of their opinion. Conducts evaluations in various settings (hospitals, jails, community) as ordered and travels to meet court-ordered locations. Requests collateral information as needed and seeks consultation on difficult cases to inform opinions. Develops and delivers expert testimony and a professional opinion regarding competency and restoration for courts. Maintains objectivity and neutrality in reporting and testimony, and explains bases for clinical and forensic opinions. Assists with the assessment process, including instruments used and collateral sources requested. Attends annual and ongoing competency training and participates in peer review and quality assurance processes. May be assigned additional duties or special projects as needed by OCFMH. Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid licensure as a Psychologist from the Colorado State Board of Psychologist Examiners. One (1) year of experience as a licensed psychologist or permitted psychologist. Special Qualifications

Licensed Psychologist. Preferred Qualifications

Training and experience in juvenile evaluation. Experience in forensic evaluations and competency-to-proceed analyses. Ability to work independently with strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment to meet deadlines. Prior State experience is a plus. Conditions of Employment

Background checks and verifications (CBI, fingerprints, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, references, professional licensure verification, PREA, Trails, CAPS). Valid, unrestricted U.S. Driver's License. May require extensive travel between offices (Fort Logan, Pueblo) and detention facilities. Pre-Employment TB test and other employment prerequisites. Post-employment disclosures may be required for previous state employment issues. About Us
