UC Davis Health Informatics The division of University Women’s Health (UWH) within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at UC Davis Health School of Medicine seeks a Generalist Associate Physician. The division provides care to a high-risk obstetric population and delivers approximately two thousand babies per year with a level III NICU. Location: Sacramento, CA Job Summary

The Generalist Associate Physician will join the Division of University Women’s Health (UWH) with full-time and part-time opportunities and various shift options, including seven 24-hour shifts or fourteen 12-hour shifts per month, or a combination. This position includes an academic without salary appointment and offers the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while contributing to medical education in an academic setting. Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology. Perform clinical duties including occasional outpatient care; daytime laborist on labor and delivery; obstetric day call; obstetrical night call in-house; on-call gynecology at home in rotation; and inpatient nighttime hospitalist duties on labor and delivery, including urgent and emergent gynecologic surgery. Hospitalist responsibilities include OB triage, labor management, postpartum care, initial evaluation and admission of antepartum patients, ER coverage, emergency surgeries and inpatient consults. Teach and supervise residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room and inpatient wards as the attending physician. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and uphold high standards of care. Participate in administrative meetings supporting departmental initiatives and operations while adhering to policies. This position is primarily based at a UC Davis Health School of Medicine clinic with flexibility to cover other affiliated clinics as needed. Minimum Qualifications

Ability to obtain a federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license without restriction within 3 months of hire Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical License in the State of California by the time of hire Successful completion of an approved Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program by the time of hire M.D. or D.O. degree One year or greater recent clinical experience in general OB/GYN Skills: collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team; triage urgent patient needs; adhere to UC and UCDH policies; practice high-quality, patient-centered medicine; manage resources; strong written and verbal communication Knowledge, Abilities and Competencies: prioritize quality of care and patient experience; timely completion of paperwork; ethical and professional conduct; provide and accept feedback; follow UCDH clinical standards and code of conduct; maintain medical staff privileges; embrace change and continuous quality improvement Preferred Qualifications
