Overview
Performs routine diagnostic radiology procedures, to include outpatient, emergency department, intraoperative, portable, C-arm, inpatient and fluoroscopic exams. Provides routine radiology services to patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Eligible for up to $20,000 Sign On Bonus. Responsibilities
Demonstrates understanding of Hospital\'s Mission, Vision and Values and the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment plan.
Meets and exceeds customer needs and adheres to Customer Service Standards.
Completes mandatory education (Hospital-wide, Department-specific, Job-specific) and complies with department policies, procedures and protocols.
Maintains current CPR certification and participates in quality improvement activities.
Provides a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors; uses lead shielding, radiation monitoring devices, and safety practices at all times.
Performs radiographic procedures including arthrograms, myelograms, C-arm procedures in the OR, fistulagrams and cystograms, GI studies (adult and pediatric), and IVP/SBFT as applicable.
Prepares and assists radiologists and OB/GYNs for specified procedures and loads/unloads/processes films through the processor and PACS workstation.
Operates C-Arms and portable x-ray units; introduces self to patient and explains the exam; sets technique factors for all age groups; uses immobilization devices as needed.
Monitors patient condition during examinations and performs RIS/SMS order entries and scheduling; ensures accuracy of patient verification in the RIS.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation, or equivalent, and satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training of two years duration.
Ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Holds a valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer License.
Current CPR certification.
Physical requirements: stand/squat 1-3 hours; walk 3-7 hours; frequent twisting and moderate bending; lift over 50 lbs with good body mechanics; fine motor skills; near/far vision; depth perception; hearing.
Pay Range $30.39-$50.16
