The Specialty Nurse Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all clinical functions, nursing practice, and the standards of care related to the delivery of patient care within the assigned specialty service in the Interventional Lab. The nurse will use the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver care for patients having operative procedures. The role includes directing daily activities, leading, planning, controlling, and evaluating nursing practices and operations for the specialty area. The nurse provides patient care to assigned patients and serves as the clinical expert and resource for the specialty service, acting as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients, and students. Responsibilities
Coordinate clinical functions and standards of care within the Interventional Lab. Apply the nursing process to design and deliver care for operative patients. Lead daily activities, plan and evaluate nursing practices and operations for the specialty area. Serve as clinical expert and resource for the specialty service; model best practices for colleagues, staff, patients, and students. Required Qualifications
Prior experience with service coordination of supply chain. Demonstrated leadership in at least four leadership roles/responsibilities within the last three years (examples: project team leadership with outcomes, MSN with leadership focus, preceptor, council or professional organization leadership, house supervisor, or professional development/quality/PI involvement). Bachelor of Science in Nursing; advanced nursing certification within 6 months of hire. Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Minimum of three years of nursing experience in an acute care perioperative setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control practices, body mechanics, and age-related acuity. EPIC system experience preferred. Legal right to work in the United States; background checks and vaccination policies compliance as required by policy. Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience in a formal role. Bilingual skills for patient and family communication. Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Education
