Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Specialty Nurse Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all clinical functions, nursing practice and standards of care related to the delivery of patient care within the assigned specialty service in the Interventional Lab. This role uses the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver care to meet the identified needs of patients undergoing operative procedures. It involves directing daily activities, leading, planning, and evaluating nursing practices and operations for the specialty area. The role provides patient care to assigned patients and acts as the clinical expert and resource for the specialty service, serving as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and students. Responsibilities
The following reflects the responsibilities described in the role: Coordinate all clinical functions, nursing practice, and standards of care for the Interventional Lab specialty. Apply the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver patient care during operative procedures. Assist in directing daily activities and lead, plan, control, and evaluate nursing practices and operations for the specialty area. Provide direct patient care and act as a clinical expert and resource for the specialty service. Serve as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and students. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Prior experience with service coordination of supply chain. Demonstrated leadership skills with at least four points of leadership roles/responsibilities within the last three years (e.g., leading a project team, advanced degree with leadership focus, preceptorship, leadership in councils or professional organizations, house supervisor, professional development programs, EPIC superuser). Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills. Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, infection control, body mechanics, and age-related acuity levels. External candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and obtain an advanced nursing certification within 6 months of hire. Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Minimum of three years of nursing experience in an acute care perioperative setting or equivalent combination of education and experience in a perioperative setting. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role. Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families. Licenses and Certifications
