Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Technician I Parker Water & Sanitation District is seeking an Electrician/Instrumentation & Controls technician. Multiple levels are available; applicants considered for level aligning with experience. Journeyman license required at all levels.

Responsibilities

Calibrate, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and controls equipment (transmitters, pressure, flow, radar, actuators).

Troubleshoot control and electrical power system failures in plants, lift stations, and pump stations.

Maintain VFDs and soft starts; program and tune control system.

Assist senior technicians with programming and commissioning of new installations and upgrades.

Test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify motors, power supplies, transformers, and other electrical equipment.

Diagnose electrical malfunctions; perform preventive maintenance or recommend replacement.

Project manage electrical projects for current infrastructure and new construction.

Monitor electrical consumption and recommend cost‑efficient methods.

Develop electrical preventive maintenance policies and procedures.

Operate construction, maintenance equipment and hand tools required for assigned tasks.

Document repairs, materials used, and time spent in CMMS work order system.

Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Journeyman level or higher license required.

1–3 years of experience in instrumentation and controls (ISA CCST Level I required).

Basic knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, process control, and CMMS.

Basic ability to read P&ID and electrical blueprints.

Strong troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing controls skills.

Ability to work safely under pressure and in emergency situations.

Valid motor vehicle record within acceptable rating.

Pay Range $31.66 – $39.58 per hour for Technician I; $36.92 – $46.15 per hour for Technician II.

Hiring Bonus $5,000 hiring bonus: $2,500 paid after 30 days and $2,500 paid after 6 months of successful employment.

Working Conditions Monday–Friday, 40‑hour workweek. Rotating on‑call emergency duty. May require overtime and in‑field work in all weather conditions. Physical labor and exposure to water, chemicals, electricity, and confined spaces.
